F5 E TIGER from VFC 13.
Model at 1/32 scale from Hasegawa, cockpit from BLACK BOX; decals from TWOBOBS; build by Patrick SPITAELS
One of the funniest model i've build so far....i began with the rescribing of all the panels lines; bhe F5 is pretty easy for that ! Then i added the new resin Cokpit from Black Box: well, i know what you gonna say....the price....well. All i can say is that it's a great add, easy fitting, great and very fine details, specially all the rear structure ! You just need a good paint on it ! For the rest, i just lowered a bit the flaps and make the air intakes / exhausts covers ( that was made to have a touch of colour on the model....) Paint scheme is all following the Twobobs instructions ! I first paint the lighter grey, the enterly mask the model. I then draw all the lines of the second colour.....and cut all the mask ! The second grey/blue was then added. A coat of FUTURE seal the first paint just before decaling. A second coat of FUTURE seal the decal process. Oh, i forget that before applying the FUTURE i weathered the plane using my technique with SMOKE from TAMIYA. I can also say that the decals are very good and went well, just on thing is that the yellow/red stars are not bright enough...a bit pale ? About the gears, i just added some brake lines....the kits parts are really good ! I also scratch the pod, to add it on the left wing. The ladder and a resin helmet coming from an old Verlinden pilot figure ended the job ! Well, i was just desapointed that my paint scheme was not what i want...the real scheme looks to have " shaded" borders...but that give a great and colourfull jet !
